Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Grand baby shower!

Mumbai, Oct 19 (TruthDive): Aishwarya’s mother-in-law and Amitabh Bachchan’s wife Jaya Bachchan hosted a grand godh bharai for daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on October 18 at their residence at Jalsa. They celebrated all traditions and customs in a grand manner. Source says, “The Bachchans are known to be very traditional”.

Jaya planned everything down to the last detail – from the menu to what her bahu will wear, to the jewellery, singing and dancing.

The Bandra house was decorated with flowers, and was packed with people in the afternoon. The entrance of the bungalow was beautifully decorated with white flowers.

Aishwarya’s husband Abhishek, who was busy shooting for ‘Bol Bachchan’ in Jaipur, took a day off for the ceremony while his sister Shweta flew down from Delhi for the special event. But father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan was missing from the function as he is currently in Australia shooting for Hollywood film ‘The Great Gatsby’.

Dressed in Indian finery, friends and colleagues of the family poured in bearing gifts for the expecting mum. Father-to-be Abhishek Bachchan was seen at the entrance, right before the ceremony started.

Aishwarya is said to have worn an orange-coloured Indian ensemble for the occasion. If guests are to be believed, she looked ethereal, with the glow of any mother-to-be on her face.

Those, who attended the ceremony, include Asha Parekh, Sonali Bendre, Saroj Khan, Twinkle Khanna, Dimple Kapadia, Manyata Dutt, Vaibhavi Merchant, Bipasha Basu, Urmila Matondkar, Shaina NC and others.

“Aishwarya was looking like a chand ka tukda. She was looking beautiful. We wish Abhishek and Aishwarya all the best,” Saira Banu, who gifted Aishwarya a gold coin, told a news channel.

Abhishek thanked the guests, fans and well-wishers and the 35 year old Abhishek was back on the sets on the same day.

As per Indian customs, Ash will go to her mother’s house after the baby shower and the Rais will follow their own customs and traditions.

Aishwarya’s due date is next month and the entire Bachchan family is set to welcome the new member.

Vivek Oberoi to play 'Joker role' in Krrish 2

Vivek Oberoi

He may have lost out in the media wars, but there’s no denying that where his craft is concerned, Vivek Oberoi is at core, an accomplished actor.

From his debut turn as Chandu in Ram Gopal Varma’s Company to his latest outing in Rakesh Roshan’sKrrish 2, Vivek believes in leaving no stone unturned to make his characters truly believable.

And his Heath Ledger’s Joker-esque portrayal in Krrish 2 may just be the most stellar role of his career, say trade sources.

“Vivek plays a consummate gambler in Krrish 2 and he is going all out to ensure that the character comes across as extremely believable,” says a source connected to the film.

“In fact, there is now a standing joke between his friends and family members that if he can’t be found at his usual haunts, then he is probably at some gambling den for the well-heeled. He has also been taking lessons from professional artistes on the right way to shuffle, how to perform various tricks… you name it.”

Friends of the actor say that he is consumed by his portrayal as Hrithik Roshan’s nemesis in the movie.
Impressive, but Vivek, don’t forget what they say about all work and no play...

Reportedly, every scene in the film will have four costume changes. A reliable source said that the film will have 130 costumes designed especially for Kareena by ace designer Manish Malhotra.

Kareena Kapoor plays a diva at the prime of her career in ‘Heroine’

After the film got shelved due to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan`s pregnancy, Kareena Kapoor stepped in to save the project. However, Bhandarkar maintains that Bebo was the original choice for the role.

“Heroine is an extravagant project and they are leaving no stone unturned to make it look as glamorous as possible," the source said.

Ex-lovers Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif bonding again?

Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have been shooting in Dublin for Yashraj's Ek Tha Tiger for nearly two weeks now and the latest gossip from the set is that the two ex-lovers are bonding again.

Salman resumed the shoot of Kabir Khan's movie immediately post his surgery.

He was suffering from a nerve disorder and was operated in a New Jersey hospital last month.

After recuperating from his illness he began shooting with Katrina Kaif in Dublin.

It is said Katrina is taking good care of Salman on the sets. She often openly shows her concern for his health. On the other hand Salman too is not behind in showing his affection towards Katrina.

From Salman's recent statement about Katrina, it was clear that he still has a soft corner for her. Once Katrina, who plays a college student in the movie, and Salman, who essays a secret service agent were shooting for a sequence where she had to ride a bicycle.

Katrina fell from the cycle. Seeing this Salman immediately rushed to her rescue before anyone else could.

Movie Review: Mausam

EDITOR'S RATING:

What's hot:

The allure of the first half of the film lies in the vintage love story which proceeds through unsaid words, unexpressed feelings, stolen glances and lots of melody (Pritam Singh)

What's not:

Too many comings and goings, meetings and separations, missed calls and opportunities, spurred on by the cataclysmic political events of the nation, tire you with their repetition, even as the evolution of Sonam into a style diva robs her off her native innocence.

iDiva verdict:

Pankaj Kapur's Mausam has lots to offer to the viewer who doesn't mind his cinema languorous, laid back and moody, with loads of beauty.

Director: Pankaj Kapur Cast: Shahid Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak, Aditi Sharma Story: Harinder Singh aka Harry ( Shahid Kapoor), whiles away his time in his native village, waiting for the letter to join the Indian Air Force. But before the letter arrives, he falls in love with Aayat ( Sonam Kapoor), the displaced Kashmiri girl who lands up in the village when Kashmir falls prey to insurgency. However, the ill-fated romance gets disrupted by the political events like the Ayodhya dispute, the Mumbai bomb blasts, the Kargil war, the Gujarat riots.... The world simmers, violence spreads, but love never dies as Harry and Aayat keep hoping for a re-union, despite the passing years and the turbulent landscape Movie Review: Mausam begins on a beautiful note. Loads of atmospherics, mood, sentiment and stunning visuals of a sleepy rural backdrop, captured in arresting mode by cinematographer Binod Pradhan make you sit back determined for an artistic tryst with cinema. Sonam's shy femininity as the anguished Kashmir migrant, trapped in alien terrain and Shahid Kapoor's boyish buoyancy add a spark to the proceedings as does their old-fashioned style of romance. Yes, the allure of the first half of the film lies in the vintage love story which proceeds through unsaid words, unexpressed feelings, stolen glances and lots of melody (Pritam Singh). The affair which begins in 1992, before the demolition of the Babri mosque has an oriental charm to it and makes for some moments of great viewing. It's not only Shahid and Sonam, but the entire ensemble cast comprising the villagers that lend a spontaneity to the proceedings. The demolition of the mosque and the political turmoil that ensues puts a brake on the tender banter and causes the lovers to separate. Aayat leaves for Mumbai and Shahid joins the Air Force. And it's here that director Pankaj Kapur seems to lose his grip, at least partially, on the story which crosses continents and slips on the natural charm and high emotional quotient that made the first half eminently watchable. The lovers meet again in Scotland, but a Mozart concert can never really compensate for the rustic splendour of misty greens, mustard fields and rain drenched terraces. Too many comings and goings, meetings and separations, missed calls and opportunities, spurred on by the cataclysmic political events of the nation, tire you with their repetition, even as the evolution of Sonam into a style diva robs her off her native innocence. Shahid's daredevil Air Force pilot too loses a bit of depth as he battles too many odds: an unfulfilled romance, enemy bunkers on Tiger Hill and a debilitating battle injury. Cut to the climax -- the lovers trapped on a burning street during the Gujarat carnage -- and things slip completely out of hand.... Too bizarre, too unnecessary, bordering on the ludicrous. Don't be dissuaded however, for Mausam has lots to offer to the viewer who doesn't mind his cinema languorous, laid back and moody, with loads of beauty

Ra.One Audio Launch

Superstar Shahrukh Khan released the audio of his most ambitious project Ra.One in Mumbai last night and he dedicated the music album to late filmmaker Yash Johar and actress Juhi Chawla's brother Bobby Chawla, who is the CEO of his company Red Chillies Entertainment and has been in coma since last year.

After launching the music of Ra.One, Shahrukh Khan said, "I want to dedicate this album to Yash Joharji and Bobby. When we started our company Red Chillies Entertainment the one who helped me start it was Bobby and the one who gave me so much love, was Yash Joharji. So this is for them."Vishal-Shekhar have composed music for this much-anticipated film Ra.One. The musician duo said, "This is one of our best albums ever. It is built for the biggest film of all time. Everything has been grand in the film and so is the music and the collaboration of international personalities like Akon, Prague Philharmonic Orchestra."However, the music launch of Ra.One was a grand event and the evening started with performances on various dance numbers from Ra.One. Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal and music-composers Vishal-Shekhar shook their legs for the songs like 'Chamak Chalo', 'Dildaara' and others. The music launch event will be televised on Star network on September 18.

The fireworks which started from there never ended as the stage went glitzier after ever act and when the awesome twosome SRK and Kareena in their stunning avatar grooved for the upcoming sensation 'Chammak Challo' on stage...

'This is it' was the sentiments running common amongst the guests and the media present as nothing could have been better than this.

Needles to add Shahrukh and Kareena Kapoor did the item of the day which would be remembered for long.

Last but not the least, the man whose looks has been kept on wraps, the super villain of 'Ra.one' revealed his wicked villain ideas to us and still we don't know how he will look in the film as SRK puts it, "We are not born as evil but we take it so it's difficult to define the look of evil."
The event took an emotional turn when SRK dedicated the movie to his ailing close friend and head of Red Chillies production operations Bobby Chawla.

Karan Johar was overwhelmed when Shahrukh spoke high regards for Yash Johar and while doing the honours of releasing the audio of 'Ra.One', Karan hailed the most expensive Indian film till date as "The proudest Indian film ever made and there isn't a film like 'Ra.One' on the celluloid."
Definitely, it a was a proud moment for those associated with the film and those present as 'Ra.One' is the first super hero sci fi flick on India as we say the Batman and Superman of the world return to the highest number of movie producing nation India.
Watch the exclusive video where Shahrukh and Kareena scintillate the stage with their electrifying performance, the audio launch and the press conference all in one especially for IG users....
